PHILOSOPHY OF THE SCHOOL

Our philosophy of nursing is based on respect for the dignity and worth of the individual

  • We strongly believe that the patient has the basic right to receive effective nursing care. Everything therefore should be done for him/her physically, socially, spiritually and mentally.
  • We believe that patient and relatives should be given the opportunity to participate in their nursing care
  • We strongly believe that patient-centered nursing is achieved only when it is individualized towards this end, nursing care plan should be provided for each patient in the hospital.
  • We believe that in-service education should be provided for all cadres of nurses in order to maintain professional growth. Therefore, nursing research should be encouraged.
  • We believe that only academically qualified, morally sound and interested candidates should be admitted to train as professional nurses and midwives.
  • Finally, we firmly believe that nursing education should be based on sound scientific principles, derived from biological, social, medical and surgical sciences.

Apart from the academic excellence, Wusasa nurses are well known for their exemplary devotion to duty, high professionalism as well as morally upright behaviours. They are the first choice of many employers.

Arguably one of the best schools in north of the Niger, the school has been able to fuse discipline entrenched in the nursing codes of training with a sense of Christian godliness.
